2022 Volunteer Opportunities (Working on Westbury)

posted Nov 30, 2021, 3:58 PM by Westbury Civic Club President   [ updated Nov 30, 2021, 3:59 PM ]

We would like to make our Working on Westbury (WOW) community improvement events bigger and better for 2022 and to add new work locations!

This year we did multiple cleanup events at Willow Waterhole - to remove litter along the main driveway entrance at Dryad, plus litter collection all around “Westbury Lake”.  We also organized a WOW event in April 2021 for a spring cleanup at Westbury Park for Keep Houston Beautiful / Keep Westbury Beautiful Day – we removed litter, trimmed trees and shrubs, removed weeds and planted new pollinator plants in the Butterfly Garden, and other activities.

We are publishing in advance what days/times we will hold WOW events in the first few months of 2022.  We welcome you to join us at a WOW community improvement event in 2022.  If you know of any student groups or other groups looking for volunteer projects, let them know we are looking for volunteers. The more volunteers we have, the more we can accomplish!

Planned WOW Workdays for First Quarter of 2022. (Latest info about place, project scope, weather cancellations, and date/time will be updated on the Westbury Houston Facebook page.)

January 23, Sunday, from 2:30 to 4 PM

February 19, Saturday, from 9 to 10:30 AM

March 27, Sunday, from 2:30 to 4 PM

April 2, Saturday, from 9:00 AM to Noon
