Any avid scrapbookers, genealogists or history buffs out there?  Here is a timely workshop on preserving your neighborhood history. With 55 years of Criers and a couple binders of clippings we just need a little direction on how best to preserve this.

On Saturday, February 26, the Houston History Association will host a workshop, “Researching Your Neighborhood History.” This free workshop is especially for civic associations, neighborhood groups, and anyone interested in historical research.

Topics to be covered include:

  • How to research the history of a building & neighborhood
  • Local research sources and archives
  • Ideas for neighborhood history projects
  • Historic designations and markers
  • Archiving your materials

Also, a panel of local authors will discuss their recent Arcadia books on Houston history. For more information please see attached flyer.

Admittance is Free, but RSVP to info@houstonhistoryassociation.org is required. If you are attending, please email Becky so Westbury folks can try to get together at the workshop.
