Outdoor Watering Restrictions Announced

posted Aug 16, 2011, 10:02 AM by Unknown user
On August 15, the mayor implemented mandatory water conservation measures in the City of Houston. Please check this link for a copy of the Press Release from the mayor's office.

Residents are required to:
•Repair all detectable leaks within 72 hours of discovery and
•Limit outdoor irrigation to the hours between 8:00 p.m. and 10 a.m. on NO more than two days per week according to the following schedule:
•Sundays and Thursdays for customers with even-numbered street addresses
•Saturdays and Wednesdays for customers with odd-numbered street addresses

Please note that the Civic Club has reviewed the Code of Ordinances referred to in the press release and has determined that hand
watering with a hose, bucket, or watering can is exempt from these restrictions as long as you are actually holding the device used for watering.

The Civic Club will continue the use of a contractor to hand water the Westbury Marker Sign beds and new trees that have been planted in the esplanades.
